9.16.2020 // Karmageddon

Karmageddon is an album made up of original music I created in the past 2 years since having my first track “Dakota” signed to Dissident Music for my Abstrakt.Digital music project; However, it is the result of a 20 year music making journey during which I have experienced the peaks and valleys of the creative process, while growing as a musician and a human.

I wrote the opening track the album gets its name from at the end of 2019. In the year prior to that, I had relocated from my 10 year homebase in Brooklyn, NY to my hometown of Rome in Italy, followed up a few months later by taking residence in Kauai, Hawaii. During my initial months in Kauai, inspired by the wonders of nature that surrounded me, I hit a creative stride that allowed me to finish the music you are holding in your hands. At the same time, I developed a stronger than ever connection to the gratitude for living on this beautiful planet, and started being particularly aware of the dangers it is exposed to by the very humans that inhabit it.

At the time, I felt that “Karmageddon” would be an accurate description of what awaited humankind if it kept pushing the boundaries of climate change while reaching new lows of dividedness. A few months later, the name took a new meaning when the entire planet came to a full stop due to a global pandemic. During this weird-as-fuck time I developed an even greater gratitude for the gift of life and the many daily privileges we take for granted, and was able to see this album to completion.

I hope you enjoy listening to the music as much as I enjoyed making it.

Aloha.
